Hello, I have been at this for a couple weeks now. I have a Iphone 2G that will NOT restore. Its error messages are random at times, 23 is common, but had some 1xxx ones too. I have read ALOT of forums, tried MANY ways. I can get it to goto normal mode, but no imei etc so it wont activate or restore. Itunes sometimes on restore made the progress bar go (If it didnt go instantly to iphone cannot be restored.) but in the end, fails.

I have read that it sounds like a bad bootloader or so and basically needs a wipe and a clean install update to 1.1.4 I think it was. (Got that downloaded) I have tried MANY ways, DFU modes etc, nothing restores (Not even in 7.x itunes) I have tried iliberty, fail. zipphone 3.0 is what I am using right now, it managed to put it in recovery mode, but then gets stuck at "searching for iphone" and even with itunes up it wont go past that?

quickpwn when its on normal mode can make the iphone go all the way to the bootloader step where it puts the iphone into its whitescreen mode, then complains to me that it didnt enter the right mode.

Anyways, Im at wits end here. Wasnt sure where to make the post to get some SOLID ideas on how to flush this iphone, get it restored and up and running somehow again. So far everything on forums I read talks about zipphone and iliberty as a way to possibly get it going again and so. Doesnt help if the app gets stuck trying to find the iphone tho. =/ Anyways. Any ideas on something I can do to flush this out and get it restored again somehow or does it look like it needs to be sent into apple for 200$ to replace? Thanks for any advice or guides. =)

No ideas anywhere? =/ Should I just pay the 200$?
