yesterday i lost control over 1cm of the lower part og the phone, so i cannot even "slide to unlock" ...

has anyone experienced this yet?
i would exchange the phone, but i am not from US.

have you restarted the phone? I remember losing that portion of the screen after a few too many demos back when the phone was released; restarting the phone always seemed to work for me to solve such a problem.

restart, reset, restore, nothing could bring it back!
im desperate!
anyone from US who would change it for me at a local store?

Yep this has been happening and apple has been quietly replacing them.

Try what you can to bring it back to life.

Careful, try and find a friend or a friend of a friend, or a friend's friend's friend who will be traveling to the States and could do it for you.

You might also start looking for cheap tickets yourself. The dollar being so low now...

no, it suddenly happened when i was using iPod on it...

you think its worth it? i mean travelling? european apple support said i should wait until its available in germany and change it here then...

by the way:

is it possible to restore the iPhone to its original Firmware 1.0?

Happened to me with TWO iphones, one i had already geohotted and the other was about to be modded.

Had to drive to the USA (i am in Canada) to get it changed. The guys there did not even blink when i told them the problem. Its well known and I think its based on the fact that there are two series of screens, the 7 and the 5. If you have a 7 I think these are the bad ones. To see what you have, dial *3001#12345#* and then you will see the Field Test screen. Select Versions

And you will see.
LCD Panel ID 5xxxxxx or 7xxxxxx

That will tell you what screen you have.
