Default TOP 5 Most Useful Projects to benefit majority of users

So here is a list of 5 things that in most users opinions (as compiled from 1500 posts taken randomly from 5 separate iPhone forums) are top priority. This list is comprised of features needed that do not require any change in hardware (ie software additions) that are capable given the current access to the iPhone filesystem etc.

    1.) Instant Messaging App

    2.) MMS Messaging Support

    3.) Video Recording

    4.) MySpace Integration

    5.) Bluetooth or WiFi sync

Notice what is missing (unlocking) apparently for people that actually own an iPhone this is not as big of a deal and may be more of an intellectual exercise for programmers than a "must have feature"

I for one, would certainly be happy to see an IM app come out of all the hard work :-)

    Happy Hacking :-)

    Myspace integration ???
What does that really mean ?

And for the IM app, i think http://www.beejive.com/iphone/ does a very good job. But of course a native app would be great !

yeah the beejive is nice, but it would be better to have a built in app, especially since we pay for "unlimited data" and the only reason the app is not included is to keep att costs down.

Deep Facebook intergration would also be a huge hit for the college aged group.

How about a wifi/bluetooth based chat program? one that will talk to other iPhones in the area? I suppose this would only be useful if apple included it in all iPhones stock. this would be a copy of the psp wireless chat.

    video recording.

    ping/traceroute/telnet/ssh/scp/ftp/nslookup/etc network admin tools.

port Pidgin (aka gaim) over to the iPhone

would mms even be possible? I think this is also a network requirement... the back end servers would need to be configured to handle the iPhone from what I know about mms (I could be wrong).

Thats funny, everyone has their own needs, I guess. I personally don't care about ANY of those!
Well, No, 5 would be handy, but not essential.

    My top 5:
    1.Unlock
    2.Listen to Streaming audio
    3.Music to Bluetooth headphones
    4.Stream iPod to airport express
    5.VOIP
    also:
    6. Flash in Safari
    7. a way to turn off phone and edge functions independently

Um, I think iPhone owners outside the U.S. would probably disagree with you.

And I'd consider VoIP to be a top priority as well. The less money I have to fork over to AT&T, the better.

Uh huh. In fact, even AT&T users should be concerned with this.

I've read in numerous places that IM (iChat) and MMS are coming in a software update this Fall.
