    Default Tiff Exploit Fix

Why would you want to patch the hole? Is there a risk of having that hole open? I'm just confused about this ....

Umm...if this exploit was on the Mac or PC, Apple/Microsoft would be shitting themselves. There would be a patch within hours. Hell, I would not even be connected to the internet if this hole was wide open on my computer.

Let me just put it this way: Using this hole, anyone with enough programming experience can get root level read/write access to your iPhone's FS without you even knowing it. I'm not even going to list examples of how bad things could get. There is literally nothing they can't do.

Hey trashman and compkid thanks for the replies....

last question if this patch is applied and you do a restore on 1.1.1 you will be able to do the exploit again correct?

and is there a possiblity that we will need this hole for any other future mods or applications?

Correct. When you restore your fw the hole will be there again.

Actually, I am pretty sure that Safari in both 10.4 and 10.5 are still affected by this exploit...

Yes I do have BSD v1.5 installed. But thinking of it again I used anySIM1.1p and not anySIM1.1 to unlock my iphone, so may be the patched version of anySIM fixes the tiff exploit! but I am not sure about that...
