Default Telstra Australia Voicemail Notification not being received

If my iPhone rings out, it goes to voicemail, all as per normal. The caller can leave a message - BUT - I never receive the text from the carrier saying 'Please call 101 - you have # new messages". I can call the mailbox manually and retrieve the message, if one has been left.

Any ideas? I've seen similar comments in other threads, but none devoted to Australian issues about this, so thought I'd start a specific thread.

Once a call has timed out and gone to messagebank, the iPhone displays a call error message, and when you slide to unlock, you can see a missed call notification.

I am on Optus and had a simular issue. Can I suggest you try turning off voice mail then re setting. Once done that may fix your issue. You can also set the VM to call you back when a VM is received (at least you can on Optus). Good luck

Yes, I'm getting the same thing as well with optus. Anyone have any fix? Would be great if anyone has a solution for it.

You guys on Optus, are you able to confirm you're able to receive calls? The Wiki appears to have been altered yesterday to indicate that you can't....

    Call In: No
    Call Out: Yes
    SMS In: Yes
    SMS Out: Yes
Data: GPRS, No EDGE on Optus network

I have deactivated call forwarding/message benk settings and reactivated to call on unreachable *61*, turned in call waiting on the iPhone itself.

    Did not fix problem.

Error message no longer appears, now I just receive a missed call notification, same as on my old phone, but I still don;t receive a sms from telstra telling me I have a new voicemail....
