    Arrow Telephone Network compatibility

i tried the search engine, but i didnt come up with good results.

    so my question is:

when i'm buying an iphone (1.1.2) in the usa now, will i be able to run it in europe / germany by using stealthsim etc.? i got an o2 simcard.

because my old nokia mobile isnt working for me in the usa and i thought there might be equal problems with the iphone regarding the telephone network.

Surprised you couldn't find anything on this. It has been dealt with many times.

If you purchase an iphone in the US, it is locked to AT&T. It will only work on other networks if it is unlocked (Software (SW) or Hardware (HW)). There is SW unlock ATM, but there is a number of HW:

An updatable Sim solution might be cheaper in the long run if you decide to go this route

The iphone will work fine on any network in France, Germany, UK, Italy, Canada, China, or Japan with a HW unlock (I think). On others it won't without adding support for that particular country:

Is your Nokia tri or Quad band? I have seen some tri band phones not working in the US.

My prediction on delivery date for 1.1.3 was right on the money! - Jan 15th 8 pm CET - Who doubted me?
