Default [T-zone hack] Is it worth it?

Hi guys, before I subscribe to this, is t-zone worth it? Thanks for the inputs.

Btw, I have an older sim card, will it affect the speed? Thanks.

T-Zones only allows certain websites to be loaded. It's crap.

I don't know what you are talking about, but T-Zone's is essentially the same as the T.I.P. (Total Internet Package) minus the e-mail, etc...

The hack opens up T-Zones to act like it is the T.I.P. (speeds do differentiate a little, but not much). I have been using T-Zones for about 6 months on the iPhone and it is great. I wouldn't even think of going back because the price is so good...

There is a downside though. Youtube doesn't work over T-Zone's (I never saw that as a "big" deal though). ALSO, apparently as it seems that the new "push" feature that 2.0 offers is only working over the T.I.P. package. Only time will tell if this will be opened up for T-Zone's.

PS - Your SIM card will not make a difference on speed, hope this helps :hack:

Older SIM card, like what i used to have, have a problem of causing the voicemail indicator (the red dot on Phone) to show up after you have power off/on your iphone or after going in and out of Airplane mode, regardless if you actually have any voicemail. A newer SIM card from T-Mobile fixed that problem for me.

    Try this:

    1. Select Install > Tweaks (1.1.3) > Install T-Mobile 1.1.3 TZones Hack..
    2. go to tweek 1.1.4 to get the YouTube hack

OK, here are some facts. Originally, T-Zones was virtually identical to the Total Internet Package except for the greatly reduced price. But gradually, T-Mobile has gotten wiser, and the first thing it did was to limit the ports available on T-Zones to those used for email. But then the hackers got clever and found a T-Mobile proxy server for http, so that removed got around some of the port restrictions. However, streaming (for internet radio, for example) doesn't work at all over T-Zones -- or if it does for you, it eventually won't. Speeds may have been comparable, but latency was very much worse for T-Zones users because they had to go through that proxy server.

However, the latest development appears to be that T-Mobile has begun to shut off EDGE access altogether to iPhone users of T-Zones. It has just happened to me in the past few days. I guess it could come back, but I've never seen the missing EDGE indicator before.

Occasionally I get the error "could not activate cellular data network," which I never saw under 1.1.4. I have to reboot. Anyone else?
