    Default T-Mobile User using iPhone... T-Zone or not... Please read before flaiming.

    O.K. I want to see what some people are having to say about T-Zones... I've searched the forums, done some outside research, but I am not sure about which way I want to go. Most of the posts I've seen are from about 3-4 weeks ago. To those users that have T-Mobile... Which route have you chosen? I want to go T-Zone, but if it's not great, then I don't want it... but if it works just like the 19.99 package for EDGE, then I might as well go with it. So please, post your comments and which route you are going/went.

    ALSO, how did you switch your plan? Does T-Mobile care if you are on an iPhone? I ask because I will be having to change my SideKick 3 plan soon and I am not sure how to go about it... please let me hear your comments

    I am in NYC, so maybe this will apply to you more as we most likely use the same towers now and then.

    I could use T-Zones Unlimited for 5 days, then there was a global/NYC T-Zones/Edge outage in NYC last Wednesday, and for whatever reason when the service was back, I was locked out. I could not access anything other than Mail.

    After 3 days of talking to WDS Tier 3 support at T-Mobile, it was finally figured out that their servers/towers locked me out of T-Zones Unlimited because it is apparently a contract violation to use T-Zones Unlimited for web surfing using proxy. So I had no choice but to upgrade to T-Mobile Total Internet.

    Hope this helps you.

    What the hell is up with ppl thinking you get instant answers here?? You waited all of an hour before posting; this is a forum not an IRC channel.

    As to your original post, I'm not sure you really searched; it sounds like you skimmed. I've replied a number of times in the last two weeks to TMobile data threads here and at howardsforum, so I know there are recent conversations. I'll post a summary and leave you to find the details:

    * T-Mobile doesn't care about iphones
    * The $20 / $30 plan works
    * They don't allow iphones to use the BB plans
    * The $6 plan should work; ToS doesn't contain language against proxies.

    im using tmobile in the midwest. the tzones internet works fine for me. it isnt super fast but you are able to do almost everything that requires the internet on it. you cant sign on AIM via the chat clients though (different ports) you can switch plans and add and remove services (such as tzones or tmobile total internet) online via the tmobile website.

    You really had to call Tier three to tell you this??

    I'm in NYC and got this working... to be honest, it is hit or miss. Service tends to work sometimes, but not always. To be totally fair, I've only had this working since Friday so I cannot tell you the long-term reliability of doing this. Right now I would say this works about 60% of the time.

    In my case, I am usually near an WAP so my need for using the edge through tzones is not as great. You mentioned you had a SKIII -- I'm assuming you use AIM a lot. I would like it if I had AIM on here, but I have not been able to get it to work.

    Why don't you just try and see which works best for you.

    Login to tmobile web and add the t-zone plan, test drive it for a day then try the full internet plan. It takes minutes to activate, afterwards you can share your location and experience.

    I tried both, t-zone (5.99 plan) is fine for my needs.
