    Default T-Mobile USA data plans?

    Hi!

I'm from Germany, and will be moving to NYC for a year, starting in a week. I have an unlocked iPhone 3g 8GB.

I'm looking at the Flexpay 300 Minutes Plan.

I've seen that there is an unlimited web plan for $9.99 but a Tmorep told me that Ihave to order the Smart Web Plan for $24.99.

So whats true? Does the 9.99 plan work?

Thank you very much for your time and help!

There's been mixed reports, some saying yes the $9.99 plan will work. There's also some reports of only getting a site saying 'You need to upgrade your plan to access the web' when you try to use Safari. YMMV.

There's been mentions that T-Mobile is pushing known iPhone users to Smartphone plans (they know by IMEI when you're using an iPhone).

If you want to safely use your iPhone with the web, sign up for the Smartphone plan as mentioned by the rep.
If you want to risk it, then try to sign up for the $9.99 plan (you'll probably need to buy a cheap phone, like the Motorola Renew, to do this) and SIM swap after you have started the plan.

    Hope this helps.

i technically use the 9.99 plan but i dont go over kill on the internet usage so its still an option but there also mixed reports about the expensive plan is more faster
