T-Mobile Data Plan: Which to get?
I've looked around and I hear all different stories on what works what doesn't, and there are lots of outdated hacks and dated plans that people talk about.
But talking about the current T-Mobile plans. Which data plans will work with the iPhone. And which data plan is the best? And which is the cheapest?
I just called T-Mobile and the customer reps say you must get the 25 dollar plan for your internet to work perfectly. But I hear so many other people say that other plans work as well. Such as the 10 dollar internet plan working.
So can we get a final consensus on this issue? An up to date one. If you personally have T-Mobile with the iPhone, and have working internet, please help us T-Mobile users.
Oh, and this is concerning a first generation 2G iPhone.

Since T-Mobile is one of the only other carriers that unlocked iPhone users can use in the US, I'm assuming that at least some of you can help me with this...
Right now I'm wondering if I can use the "web2go" service which can receive Unlimited Web for phones for $9.99/month. This is in the "other phones" section, and I believe this is the newer "t-zones" which is meant to be used with the crappy normal free phones. But I know people have used t-zones to access edge, so I'm assuming this might work as well? Can anyone verify? T-Mobile customer service said it wouldn't work, but I think it can work.
Alternatively, the one that T-mobile is suggesting is the T-Mobile Smartphone Unlimited Web plan for $24.99/month. If I can save 15 dollars a month, I'd like to know.
I guess there are even more choices. I just want to know which ones work, and what people have tried? Like will the G1 internet service be able to work with my iPhone?
I've searched multiple threads concerning t-mobile internet access, but I just wanted an up-to-date verification since most of those threads are out of date. Thanks for any help!

I use the $9.99 unlimited web2go plan on my 2G iPhone with no problems. Just set the APN to internet2.voicestream.com and leave user name and password blank. If you long on to your my t-moblie page and set your phone so a dumb phone, like a razr, you can add this plan without having to go through customer service.

i know you said you wanted something recent, but your only a few months late on the 5.99 tzones. you can try what i did, but i don't know if it'll work still or not.
go to tmobile.com and log in. go to support, then contact us. then click chat with customer support, select rate plans, then general rate inquires. in the open msg type:
Hello. I called Tmobile Customer care, and the Lady informed me that she would be able to add Tzones onto my account. The plan was "TZUNL599". If you could add the Tzone feature, as she didnt. Then id Appreciate it. Thanks
this may or may not work for you. it worked for me. if the first person wont do it for you, close it and reconnect to a different chat rep n try again.
originally OTB 1.1.2 iPhone 4.6BL
hActivated/Jailbroken/gUnlocked
Tzones hacked
T-Mobile USA
now blackra1n'd 3.1.2

Thanks guys. Now I'm wondering how slow is the web2go service? (or t-zones i guess)... Will it be the same speed as the 24 dollar smartphone internet plan? I heared its much slower. And will web2go (or t-zones) allow me to access everything online? The browser will work perfect and all?
Thanks!
EDIT: I'm really ready to just get both, and do speedtests myself. But if someone can help out I'd appreciate it.
Update: Ok I just got the web 2 go plan today, only 9.99. I told them I had a regular nokia and they just added it. Everything works quite well! Now the only thing I'm wondering is if the smartphone $24.99 plan provides a faster service somehow. Otherwise I see no reason to pay that much more.
