hope thats not a stupid question but is it possibile to sync the iphone offline, for lets say mp3s for the ipod mode or photos for example? with my regular ipod i can do it, it says at the beginning it cannot log on to the internet but then i still can sync the stuff. however, when i try it with an iphone there is also a message saying that it cannot conncect to the internet but then there is a blank screen (with just "iphone" written in the middle)...

Try to connect your iPhone without the SIM card. This works for me ;-)

Does this also work for activation? Probably in this case you need to be online in order to activate the iphone? In the beginning I thought dvd jon's phone server is a (offline) substitution for apple's online activation server... Meaning that you don't need to go online for activation since itunes think it communicates with the net... does anybody understand what I am talking about??
