Default synchronizing iphone with 2 (or more?) computers

I hope I'm not raising a question that has been asked before...but:
After buying a new laptop that would eventually enable itunes and synchronizing to work faster and error free I attempted synchronizing my iphone (3gs, 32GB ver. 4.01) and, of course, no contents passed.
After Reading several forums I downloaded to my device, via cydia, an application called swaptunes, attempted synchronizing, which did transfer applications though no music/video. An attempt to do so ended in erasing all my music contents on the iphone.
I re-synchronized with my older lap top and the music was re-installed though I remained with a yellow bar on my memory status of ocer 10GB which left me with a total of 3 GB free memory on the device (instead of 16-17GB).
    1. How can I undo this memory problem??
    2. I still waould very much like to "dump" all the contents of my Iphone to my new Lap top Itunes.
Thanks....(and sorry for the long accompanying story)
    Jonathan

So are you trying to get your music and video from your iphone to your laptop or are you trying to get your itunes stuff to the new laptop?

We generally recommend that you copy/move your music library from your older laptop to your newer laptop.

The iPhone/iPod/iPad have always been designed as a device that you sync content to, not something you copy content from.
Apple only makes an exception for content you purchase directly on the iOS device, then you are allowed to synchronise this back to your computer.

Of course there are third party tools that can get around this limitation. However I'd copy directly from the old laptop to new if you are planning on doing this as a one-time operation and you still have access to the old laptop.
