[Sync] iPhone not detected on iTunes
Hi,
Posted earlier but couldn't find it anymore, hope I didn't break some forum rules with the posting and got it deleted. Anyways here's my phone, and my problem:
OTB 1.1.2 Ziphone unlocked
Dell Inspiron 6400
Windows XP
itunes (first 7.5, then 7.6.1)
The problem is itunes is not showing the iphone menu on the left hand side. Upon connecting to the computer, windows sees it as a camera, and itunes also starts up automatically. However after waiting for a long time it doesn't show on the left under "devices". I have tested it with my ipod which worked fine. I have also been able to connect and sync my phone previously without any problems, up until yesterday.
I've tried all solutions I've been able to find. Re-install itunes, quicktime, apple device management (and making sure that it is "started" and windows driver installed) Downgrading itunes, system restore to an earlier time... I am so out of ideas. I CAN tho, put the phone into restore mode and have itunes recognize it. Although a full restore would be a last resort as I would rather look for a solution to this problem in case it happens again in the future.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Victoria

hings you could try
restarting your computer
reset all settings on the iphone

last resort restore your iPhone by dfu mode

Same here - tried 3 different computers and the update to 7.6 with no luck- DFU->restore.
Sadly I'm getting pretty good at it

Do you think it's from the Ziphone unlock?
Hmm, this is quite problematic if it's going to happen on a regular basis! I might just have to reconsider using the iphone all together, who has time to keep restoring their phone all the time...

I tried that but it didn't work. For the people who has had the same problem did you all use ziphone unlock? I might use geohot unlock again as I've used it before and seemed to be a lot more stable.
