Support for SMS "Push" Messages and MMS?
Does anyone know whether or not the iPhone supports MMS and SMS "push" messages? For those don't know, a SMS push message is a small installation script that an operator can send you via SMS to update configuration params (like EDGE). These are standards based and most -- if not all -- GSM support them.

its the operator who has to support the iphone.. not the fone...
at&t might have that feature.. but i dont think any other network supports the iphone as yet

Surely you're mistaken.
Re: MMS. Clearly the Operator has to support this feature in advance, but the phone has to support it as well and apparantly the iPhone doesn't.
Re: Push SMS. Once again, the Operator needs to support SMS first, but the phone needs to support push SMS as well and, once again, I doubt that Apple has built this feature into the iPhone since the iPhone is meant to function on one operator's network in a given country. Push SMS pre-supposes that serveral operators can provide the service.
In short, I think I've answered my own question.

I know that the iphone doesnt support mms independant of the operator, as you know too...
About the push sms, it might even support it (afterall there is an EDGE settings menu in there that only appears when you have another sim card inside)...
anyways, it might be supported, but if there isnt a way to test it, there is no way to be sure...
you could possibly try to get GPRS settings sent from say Sony ericsson's confiugaration site and see how the iphone reacts to those...
