Stuck on 4.2.1 (06.15 Baseband) Restore Loop!
Hello all,
I have an iPhone 3GS that I got with 4.2.1 firmware on it. Trying desperately to find a way to unlock it for overseas use, I used the Redsnow activation method to get it unlocked, but the firmware crashed while it was loading and doesn't seem to be doing anything. I did choose to install the 06.15 baseband as part of this process.
I'm now trying to restore back to stock and start again, but I cannot restore to stock firmwares because of the 06.15 baseband. I also can't get Ultrasnow or PwnageTool working properly to create custom IPSW's to restore to. I still have access as when I turn on the phone it says its in restore mode...I just need something to restore to.
Does anyone have any tips? Maybe a custom IPSW they can send me to help me out? I'd greatly appreciate it!
I don't have the SHSH values either.

Is it new bootrom or old bootrom?

That would be illegal and we don't allow illegal activities on this forum. Make your own custom IPSW.

Well then why did you start jailbreaking? Seriously, it says in all the guides for this - that this is an advanced solution and it is recommended you have SHSH for 4.1 (at least)

How can I determine bootrom?
I apologize for asking for illegal activities. I wasn't aware, I apologize for infringing on forum policy.
I tried using iRecovery with no luck. It's still booting in recovery mode. I'm not even sure there's a complete firmware loaded on the device right now. Is there any way to recover the SHSH blobs after the fact?
I'm not new to this stuff. I have an iPhone 4, used to have an iPhone 2G and have been doing this for a while now for pretty much every firmware. I just hit a snag, and I'm confident that the jailbreak/unlock community can help me find my way around it.
I can't restore to stock firmware through iTunes, and am having trouble getting custom IPSW's installed (made my own) through Redsnow. They both hang during the recovery process (at the Apple screen with the progress bar).
Should I just wait until the Dev Team finds another way around it?

Progress!
I managed to restore to a Custom FW. Now I am on 4.2.1 with the 06.15 baseband (iPad).
Where should I go from here? I don't want to mess this up again.
I'm looking to get jailbroken and unlocked.

Assuming you ticked off "activate" when making the custom IPSW then
Launch Cydia and install mobile substrate/ultrasn0w - let the iPhone reboot.

Then verify you have service. If you experience battery problems, try SAM http://www.hackint0sh.org/f204/194306.htm
I'm assuming this is an old bootrom 3GS and you have an untethered jailbreak.
