Strange EDGE error 1.1.2
I have a strange error regarding edge. IN 1.1.2 you can create .plist filea ND symlink. I have upgraded to iPhones to 1.1.2. I use a Norwegian carrier called Ventelo and the wife uses OneCall. Also Norwegian. I have made to plist files for us both. They are identical, except for edge apn:
internet.ventelo.no and internet.netcom.no
The entry "Supported SIMs" are also different. They are 24207 for ventelo and 24202 for NetCom (OneCall is a logical carrier on the NetCom network).
AllowEDGEEDiting is also set to true for both of us. Except for these entries, the two plist files are identical.
If I insert my Ventelo sim, I get an "E", and in Settings I see the edge settings.
Now. If I insert my wife's OneCall sim, I see only a little square where there should have been an "E". The square is empty, no "E" or "G". I can use datatraffic, but it seems a little slow. There is also no edge settings in the Settings menu,
I don't understand this. On 1.1.1 and on 1.0.2 this was not an issue...

Does the same thing on mine since I updated to 1.1.2 using a Wind Sim. Data works with or without the E but it seems when there is an E it means your on GPRS with Edge working when it is only the square you are on GPRS without Edge. at least that is how it seems to me. The only downfall to this system that I have found is that when you only have the blue Square and no E YOUTUBE says you need a Edge Connection for it to work.

You are right. YouTube asks for Edge. It seems like Edge is not connected... I know that the apn I have set up is correct and Edge works where I am. The same simcard gets Edge in another phone.
This worked on both 1.1.1 and 1.0.2 on the same phone.

They fixed it and now it displays the quality of the data connection (E-GPRS, aka EDGE, or plain GPRS). The problem is that the GPRS icon in now a the absence of EDGE, but rather a "G".
In another thread someone has created a replacement "G" to fix this.

Interesting. Could you let us know where one has to place these pictures? Is there anything else to do?
