Just got my iPhone stolen. It was a 4GB, week 32 iPhone

The funny thing about it though is this -

I installed one of the beta 2.0 firmwares on my iPhone just before it got stolen, which means that my iPhone will expire on a certain date. Can't remember the date off the top of my head but at least it will become useless. Unless they are smart and reverse it, judging by who they were it is doubtful.

Still very annoying though

Will be definatly getting a new iPhone soon though.

Karma will find a way to pay you with something better and hit the b@stard whole stole it from you. Well, for what it may seem, karma is already on your side as that 2.0 will soon expire and they will be left with an useless iPhone.

On top of that, now you have an excuse to buy yourself that shinny new 3Gness iPhone. And if you can't right now, you dam sure will in a near future.

Yeah I was quiet happy to realise that the 2.0 firmware was installed and that it would expire. The iPhone wasn't in great shape anyway, it had scratches over it (dropped it a few times lol) and the battery was getting to the point where it needed replacing. So I was thinking about getting a new one.

Anyway whoever has my phone will be greeted with the Pink Screen of Death soon I'm going to call vodafone tommorow and get the phone blocked aswell.

I think Ill save up for a new shiny 3G iPhone , when are they expected to be released ?

I'll be on the lookout for noobs that got a 4gb iPhone "from a friend" with expired 2.0 firmware. Its a long shot, but stranger things have happened

same thing happened to me =( in school TEXTING on it and it gets robbed/pickpocketed/whatever! Looked at the camera but you couldn't see shit. I'm going over to Florida mid June and am hoping to pick one up.

What's the release date for the 3G phone? I've heard June 9th, 27th and all others. If I do pick up a 3G phone - how long will I be waiting till I can unlock it?

EDIT: oh and on the karma thing! I was having major problems with my phone! Whenever I turned it off it would go into recovery mode and I'd need to use independence to kick it out. When I tried a restore it gave me error 1604 - even on different computers and operating systems! Hopefully - they turned it off and have a lovely 8gb restore screen!

that sucks man, to bad there isnt a back to mac app for the iphone....

Well I was walking back from my mates house about an hour ago. Like I do most days. I was simply listening to my music, having a cigerette and as I almost reach the top of my road two asain people walk past me. Didn't think anyting to it until they had me up against the wall. They probably saw the white earphones (they probabaly thought I had an iPod). One of them reached into my pocket and then they both ran, I chased them for awhile but they were running pretty fast so I gave up.

Happened very quickly. Had a lot of contacts on the phone aswell but luckily they are all backed up on the computer, along with the rest of the iPhone.

Big shame though, it isn't the thing you want to happen when you have exams etc

well all those takling exams be on the look out and make sure to carry brass knucks or a knife or something

time to code a remote destroy app which is i.e. erasing BB and Bootloader on incoming destroy code and regularly checking a webaddress for the destroy code in the background. Perhaps the new GPS-Option gives us the power to track the phone's location and send some ninjas to kick the shit out of their brain.
