A friend of mine that I talked into getting an iPhone, same girl I talked into getting a MacBook wants me to jailbreak/unlock her phone as I have done to mine. She's had two mac-heads at work tell her not to hack the iPhone. One even said that they have a friend at Apple that said, "when you update the phone Apple is able to tell if you've hacked it and if so they will shut it down so you cant use it anymore".

Is this a bunch of bullcrap? What do you think? All I know is my phone has been jailbroken/unlocked and activated for a couple of weeks now with no issues.

While we on the subject, when iPhone 2.0 comes out will it undo the jailbreak or will it simply update and leave the iPhone free?

If you Jailbreak it you will be fine. Dont listen to those knob heads.

Apparantly with the iPwnage tool the 2.0 Firmware should still be unlockable. I dont think anyone can guarantee future firmwares after that. You never know what Apple (Satan) has in mind lol.

PMSL, I hacked an iphone for a client today (one I supplied).

He said he had O2 on the phone to him last week trying to flog him mobile services and he said he wanted an iphone. They proceeded to tell him that iphones are rubbish as they don't even have bluetooth !!

WTF ) These guys clearly aren't getting any training on the products they are selling.

i have a friend at college that works for o2 and she told me it's impossible to hack an iphone i just burst out laughing and showed her my phone lol then i put an orange sim in n her face just dropped, the next day she came in and said her boss told her it's illegal to hack an iphone because o2 own the rights so i gave her my mobile number and said see what you can do about, not only do o2 employee's need more training so do there bosses, they also need to realise how to not be so smart to people coz they'll just get owned lol
