Still have 1.0.1 and activated
Hey wise folks,
I just noticed I never updated my 1.0.1 firmware from the box. Jailbreaking, activation and unlock were completely successful. iTunes now doesn't suggest anything when I insert the phone.
Do you think I should do something about this?
Should I put it in restore and flash with 1.0.2? That erases everything, right?

u can upgrade to 1.0.2, u will not lose your unlock(stored in the baseband) but u will look all your apps and shit, u just need to rejailbreak and install them again.

So, can I make iTunes install 1.0.2 if they don't remind me about that? I guess if I enter restore that would be it - but won't they flash documents in this case as well?

Well, normal update process through iTnues definitely doesn't presuppose complete flashing, or people would go nuts.

But again iTunes doesn't ask me to update... Ah, I think there should a button somewhere... I'll check it.

in the menu bar under "iTunes" is "Search for Update"!
If the iPhone is connected it should find a update.

Just update it.
But make sure you sync and backup first.
Hacked iPhone always lead to full restore and update:p

Ye, when I started updating it went straight into recovery. Now I'm installing the 1.0.2. I'll keep you posted.
