i got my own iphone yesterday and i'm not the fittest with terminal and ssh stuff, though i already made good progress
it's an OTB 1.2.1, so i can only use it as an iPod touch for the time being, but i managed to jailbreak and use it with the 1.2.1 FW. today i tried to put some pdf files onto the iPhone to read them with the installed PDFviewer app, but when using Fugu to get into the filesystem, the standard passwords alpine or dottie aren't accepted. i couldn't remember setting a different password, so i tapped onto the SSH app (the icon showing white light switch), checked to see if OpenSSH is set to on (it is) and typed in a new password, closed the application, restarted springboard.
still, i can't log on, be it with fugu or thru the terminal with ssh <IP address here>. i checked the installed packages with Installer.app, installed OpenSSH again, repeated my routine but still i can't log on. Installer.app shows the BSD Subsystem to be installed twice, but either installs only offer to refresh the packages, i can't uninstall one of them. dunno if that's the way it has to be, or if i need to be bothered by having two BSD installs, but I'd like to have access to the file system!
btw, mobilefinder is installed.
