Question [Speculation] iPhone in Canada ?

This may or may not be significant, however just for shits and giggles i try the link http://www.apple.ca/iphone now and then. Low and behold this week instead of bringing up the page not found it now routes to the USA iPhone page.

It definitely could be nothing... but it could also be a very very big something

perhaps the answer will be revealed on the iPhone road map.

WOW!. Nice find, that is very interesting and definitely could be something. Not anything this year I don't think but maybe an announcement Macworld this summer?

Sweet. Nice find. I think it's about time Rogers got the iPhone so they can introduce those new data plans.

I don't give a lot of credence to comments like "I have insider news" without sources. If I did, I'd write for Engadget.com. Canadians have seen so many "It will be here by XXX date" that we're going to believe it when we see it.

However, the other player in the iPhone-to-Canada game, Comwave, is acting pecular.

If you notice the Comwave have toned down their use of the words "iPhone" in their TV commercials. Now calling them Home Phones. However, the "iPhone is here!" images are still plastered all over their site. Probably a good will measure with Apple?
Can I sync my iPhone to my Newton?

Maybe there's some miscommunication?. From what I see on their site, the iPhone is this:

The redirect occurs with jp/Japan as well.

Then the Austria version redirects to the main Austria Apple web site.

That doesn't mean much to me. Apple might have set the address up in preparation and then left it sitting. Heck my iPhone 1.1.2 (4.6) came already set up to work on Italian carrier TIM. I've seen the packages when snooping around in SSH and the phone still isn't available in Italy. So the existence of a web url is not much proof of anything.

If I'm too be honest I suspect Apple is meeting resistance from carriers that don't want to give them a chunk of users monthly bills. There seems to be hesitation considering how easy it is to unlock a phone and how they are already available routinely.
