Sound problem after updating to 1.1.1
Hi There,
after virginize, updateing, jailbreak and unlock my iphone i thought everything is ok. but suddenly (while starting playback a video) after a few seconds the speaker of my iphone went silent. no more audio playback, no sounds, no ringtone if a call comes in. if i plug in the headphones, everything works, but the speaker are dead.
could someone help me with this please?
thanks a lot,
SioSae

I want to add my question to this thread because is related.
I have 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 unlocked iphones and all have a poor sound quality in the right speaker. The left speaker seems to work fine (loud and clear). I try to put the headphones in and out but the problem still there.
Maybe anyone have the same problem, you can notice that if you block the left speaker (in my case, the good one).
Thanks !

Your iPhone do not have any problem with it. The built in speaker is not a stereo speaker.
There are two groups of meshes (holes) on the bottom of your iPhone. When the screen is facing you, the left group is speaker and the right group is microphone.

I had this problem right after my first upgrade to 1.1.1. It went away from a few reboots.

i had the exact same problem after updating from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1. I did a restore and everything worked fine after that. You may want to try that.

Solution:
WHat I've found is this. If listening to music using the headphones, and then you unplug the headphones without pressing pause, the speaker won't work. Basically all you need to do is re-plug the headphones in, press pause, and the speaker should work.

thought it was gone but today the speaker went silent again, last time i used the phone everything was ok. a few hours later and without using the headphones the problem was there again.
what do you mean with unplug the headphones without press pause. if i unplug them, the music stops automatically. so if i unplug them during music playing, the music stops and i can press the play button, not the pause button.

just read on hacktheiphone, that a few users of the anysim unlock reported some problems with the speaker and unplugging the earphones too. not the same problem but maybe there is something going wrong with the new anysim (the problem didn't occur with 1.0.2's old anysim), maybe not. i dont know, all i know is that i didn't use earphones the time, the speaker went dead the second time so it cant be only related to the unplug action.
