hey ZuZ,
bad news to report, yesterday night my phone went back into NSC, i was so frustrated, don't know what i have done wrong.
Although it is worth mentioning that it had worked flawlessly for the last 24 hours after i put the insulation and had been working almost fine(except for going into NSC a couple of times) for the last 5-6 days since i opened the antenna cover.
Have just packed the phone for now, as have my exams soon.
Anyways, thanks a lot for your help, it is highly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Take Care,
nochinta

hey nochinta,
goodluck on ur exams, but if tried opening it up again i guess u have to increase the insulation on the inside..make it bigger and wider... and try to tighten the screws of the board inside the iphone..
cheers man
best of luck

Success!
Heres what i did.
I finally got the time to open it.I followed the guide from fixit
http://www.i f i x i t.com/Guide/iPhone/Rear-Panel/105/4/Page-2/Antenna-Cover.
The antenna cover gave me a hard time but a guitar pick and my dad's patience did the trick.
After removing the three screws i booted it up and voila, full signal and phone capabilities back to normal.
The speakers though werent working due to removal of screw no2.

After putting it back, speakers were back to normal and the signal was also working fine.
So the problem was that the rear panel was making contact to something it wasnt supposed to (heads up to zuz!) and by removing the screws 1,3,i gave it the space it needed just to avoid this.
So instead of following the guide to the end and removing the rear panel to put some insulation on,i actually stopped at page 4 out of 9.I tried to provide the space the rear panel needed by pulling it up a bit.
And for that "pulling up" i used a plastic toothpick
Here's some pics.

Putting back the antenna cover is tricky but gentle force will do it.
I ll keep it this way and see if it works. If not,i m going use insulation.
Needless to say that the whole NSC is a hardware thing.

I had the same problem, but since I deactivated EDGE using Services.app (I need to repeat that procedure after each reboot), everything seems to work fine.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
well just for the record.. its been around 3 weeks now and not a single "No Service"...
