nope i didnt do anything else.. i just tightened the screws and inserted the isolation...
nothin other than that..
maybe the metal thing is defective in some models and causing unwanted contact with the comm board directly under it...
coz i noticed that whenever i pressed kinda hard on the back of my iphone i USED to loose the service and get the no service thingie.. and had to press on another part of the rear-panel for it to work (under the camera pinhole) to be exact..

The burn metal is the apple logo inside of the case. All Iphone that I opened was like this. I opened my iphone and didn't work for me. Maybe it's another problem.
Another one tried this method and i'ts working now?

@ZuZ
Hi zuz,
Something interesting to report, remember about 4-5 days ago i told you that i managed to open the antenna cover but not the rear panel.
Now this is what happened with me, i have opened the antenna cover for a couple of times now, the first time i opened the antenna cover and tried to remove the rear panel, i forgot to remove the middle screw(the one that has a small metal tab under it). anyways in my ignorance(also didn't have a comp nearby so couldn't see ifixit guide), I tried to get the rear panel out but failed so just put the antenna cover back on. Switched the phone on but got 'No service'
Now the second time i again read the ifixit guide and realized my mistake, so i again opened up my antenna cover and unscrewed all the 3 screws and again tried to get the rear panel out but could not. So i put the screws and the antenna cover back on the phone. Now, i again switched on the phone and got 'no service'. So i just switch the phone off.
After a few hours, i switched my phone on and it started showing the signal, and it was showing good signal continuous for the last three days without any problems(mind you ever since i have got the phone, for about a month now, it has never showed good signal for so long till now
, it always showed signal for few hours and went into NSC). It did get into 'no service' again yesterday evening, i just switched it off for some time and turned on again and it started showing signal and had been working ever since.
So I am a bit happy now for it has been working almost without any problems for the last 4 days except for the No service yesterday evening. I will use it for a few days more and report back.
So yes, i think tightening or untightening the screws might have something to do with it? What do you think?
Peace,
nochinta

my conclusion so far is that the rearpanel is making contact with the logic board underneath it, which is causing the no service..
mmm one thing to try, whenever this happens to u again try loosening the screws and see if u get a signal..
my theory: loosening the screws decreases the contact between the rearpanel and the board, while tightening them will make them touch and get a no service...
a possible way to prove it is to try tightening the screws and see if u get a no service.. if u get a no service once u tigeten the screws then my theory is proved

right, what you say is very possible, tightening the screws may be creating contact between the panel and the board, putting the insulation just solves the entire problem(contact or no contact)
right now the phone seems to be working fine, will try this if i get the NSC again,
and if i do get it, how about, if just for experimentation i completely remove the 2 screws on the sides and let the middle one stay as it has some metal strip under it, and use the phone for few days to see what happens, as it is the rear panel is so tightly fitted, i don't think anything will happen if i use it without the screws.
Your suggestions?

well i suggest that u keep the side ones and remove the middle one.!
coz as u said in ur previous post that u forgot to remove the middle one and u still got the no service and once u (removed it and then put it back ) u got a signal...
besides since it is a metal it tends to be bent inwards in the middle, where i think all the contact is happening.. so i guess the middle screw is much better!
what do u think?
i think we may have found the solution to the "No Service" problem
