Software unlock or stick to TurboSim?
Hello!
With the advent of the software unlock which is FANTASTIC! one question arises:
- If I have a perfectly working iPhone with turbosim should i switch to the SW Unlock or stick to the TS?
There are a few important things to consider:
- "I see the $100 rebate page for the iPhone at Apple.com has an image of an iPhone running Firmware version 1.1.1 and a modem version (which might update the baseband) of 04.02" hacktheiphone[.]com
- this most likely means that the hack is going to be invalidated by the new updates.
- which method is most likely to withstand? TS / SW unlock?
Sure, a "permanent" software solution would be ideal, but given the current circumstances, can someone clearly outline the benefits of one methos vs. the other for "happy turbosim" users....
thank you!

Well given that a bb update *may* cause an unlocked iPhone to revert, I am taking the "if it ain't broke" approach and am keeping the turbosim in the tray for the time being... its not hurting anything after all...

true...
what i was wondering and can't find a clear answer & can't test at the moment:
- with the SW unlock, is it possible to just switch the sims? or do i have to reactivate with the new sim each time? this is very useful when traveling abroad and important if you don't have any laptop/computer available. (other than the iPhone
this is where the TS isn't very handy...

You will have to use a patched version of lockdownd (which you can find by searching the forum here), that will enable you to switch between sims without needing to reactivate each time.
