I was browsing some sites looking for somewhere to buy a (second!) iPhone internationally, and there is a company which re-sells goods from US shops overseas, called International-Orders.com. http://www.international-orders.com/...ge=shop.browse

On their iPhone page, they list these:

• Apple iPhone 8GB Activated (Unlocked) - includes Turbo SIM $995.00
• iPhone Activation Download $49.00

Notice this last item... There were no details available when I clicked on it, which suggests it just went up.

Now, it could be just a ripoff commercial "activator" (ie, bypass iTunes activation so you can use as an iPod), but the fact that they use the terms "activated" and "unlocked" interchangeably elsewhere on the site made me wonder.

Could they be getting ready to be a distributor and sell iPhoneSIMfree's product?

it actually says iPhone ACTIVATION, not unlock... So its pretty obvious its ACTIVATION not UNLOCK...

if tomorrow iphonesimfree don't release their SW i'll do HW unlock.
49$ is a plausible price

I did mention that: if you look at their other items, they often confuse the terms.

Don't forget that people that make shopping sites often don't know the precise meaning like we do. (Search eBay and you'll find "unlocked" phones that can't be used to make phone calls.)

And $49 would be very steep for an iActivator that you can download for free....

They do seem fairly honest in other ways: their internationally shipped iPhones are only $100 over the RRP price, so I don't know if they'd be ripping people off in this way.
