    They're now the same price as the 8GB new models. I'm thinking maybe Apple switched the memory in them for 8GB and are now selling them all as 8GB refurbs. Seems reasonable to me...

    I doubt seriously Apple would open the iphone to change the flash.
    It would cost a fortune to do, and seeing on how hard it is to open the iphone (remember, it's not any easier for Apple !) I doubt that's the case
