Default So... What about SMSs from operators?

I'm opening this thread only to know if there's some news about SMS from operators, which couldn't be received by the iPhone... Is there some 3d-party app or something similar, at last?

SMS, yeah. But Operator-SMS's, from senders without a number, were or are causing problems... is there a fix already?

yeah I'm having the same problem. SMS sent from non-numbers appear gibberish and I can't read them. Plz it is urgent. If someone can help I would appreciate it.

I get them everytime I make a call they tell me the remaining credit and how long the call was they work fine for me. Are you asking if there is a way not to get these? If so as far as I know you need to ask your provider to not send them, well at least that is the way it works in Italy.

No I'm not talking about those. SMS that are advertisements for example. These come as gibberish but if I want to check my credits and bills they all come up fine.

I'm from Italy too, and I imagine you're using Vodafone as me. I don't know, but I can't receive SMSs from my op.

Vodafone has a special number (404) that, once called, hangs down the call immediatly and sends you a SMS informing how much credit you've got. I don't know if this works for me, as I don't have a prepaid plan; however, I don't receive any message sent by my operator, like:
    - SMS informing that someone's called me while my phone was turned off or I was out of GSM coverage
    - SMS that tells that a special promotion (like the one for the free SMS I've always active) is going to renew or deactivate
    - SMSs that notify about having received a mms (and this is very useful, since the iPhone cannot receive them)
    etc...

All those messages appears as sent from numbers: for istance those informing about the credit are sent by 404; those informing about lost calls are from caller's number (like +39 340 1234567), etc...

Is there any solution? I'd really need to receive them...

With 1.1.1, it's quite strange. I have received some SMS from text sender correctly (well the name was a mix with numbers and some other chars). But most of them are unreadable. So it seems to be a step in the right direction. At least, now I know when I have a message on my voicemail as I receive the message from the operator, even if it's unreadable.

I think this garbled SMS message problem is the reason why many people are not getting Voicemail notifications anymore in 1.1.1:
