Some people on this board have had their iPhones for a couple of months now, yet they still can't use them as phones. So the rush is completely understandable.

I get such comments on a daily basis from colleagues at work: "oh, so you got an iPhone...but you can't use it as a phone...hahaha...loser". Hopefully after the unlock they will STFU.

I don't think today anyone will be able to unlock the phone. The reason I am saying that is because today is the first day they are accepting all the reseller to wire money to them. it takes couples days for the fund to trasnfer, by the time iphonesimefree.com receive the fund, start processing the unlocking procedure, I am guessing the earliest day will be around Wednesday.
I purchased one license from Tarsh, I am hoping it works, and hoping it works the first day, which is today.
We will see........... (only few hours away....)

I get the same. I was so smug when I showed it off and told everyone that a software unlock was coming out 'tomorrow'. This was last month!

What can be done by giving out my IMEI or serial #? Is it possible for carriers/apple to blacklist my phone?

Isnt there a risk of their software having a backdoor of some sort in it? Ide rather brick a phone or 6 than have a person spy on 1 SMS. (cant keep the chicks off me, jk)

Cant someone just take my $50, say "hocus pocus", and unlock my phone without me giving out info or even my name?

Im paranoid.

i use my iphone as ipod touch with cam...as mobile i use my nokia n95

when i first got the iphone my gf and friends were like, "hey you got an iphone....no wait, you got an "i" only...." Then i'd say, at least I have an expensive iPod. Anyways, hope you guys get the unlock today... I'm currently using the PSS Sim Kit. Works fine too if anyone is sick of waiting for the unlock like me. Cheers...

Fuck, i get it all the time...wish i knew someone who could do the hardware unlock for me. Tried doing it myself, but not luck

You have to bare in mind the confirmations of payment for orders and the full fillment time from iPhoneSimFree. Although it could be released it might take a few more days if not till the end of the week to be ready to be sent out to resellers. Also you have to keep in mind smaller resellers who will need to input the data collection into the IPSF system.
