hi,
The SMS that i receive from the service providers and other automated services are garbled.I get some 3 letter words as sender and the content is garbled , some random texts....

I understand that the SMS from the service providers are acknowledged by the phone before displaying.Any fixings for this ?
I guess there aren't any threads for this already ..

You'd be surprised how many - Others seem to have problems as well - I think it depends on your provider

I have the same problem. I thought it was text encoding problem or something. Can someone point to an active thread?

It looks like a bug in the baseband firmware to me. The way some SMSs are decode.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

This is really annoying. And so far there seems to be no solution to the problem.

I have seen this also. I think it is a bug from Apple.
This error occur when the sms is send without a sending number.
That means if your provider dont send his sms with a replyable number you get this garbled text.

I'm curious if this has anything to do with the patched AppSupport for callerid matching.....

Daily I receive SMS message with the SMS sender number, but no text. They always appear at the very bottom of my list of SMS...since I there is no text, I just delete them.

wats the status of the sms bug.Could you post wat all you have found about the issue.?
"aviegas" doubts its something to do with the patched AppSupport.
