Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has run into this issue before. Basically I activated my iphone using the guide on hacktheiphone to activate with another cingular/att&t sim card, and it worked.

I can place calls, receieve calls, email, internet no problem.

I just realized there was a problem when receiving text messages however. I know I can recieve texts from people that use AT&T / Cingular lines, however I have no luck receiving texts from people on other carriers.

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

same here on a cloned card ... i dnr receive all SMSs plus sms app stop working on unicode msgs !

I can receieve messages as long as they're from AT&T/Cingular phones, but no one else.

Also I'm not using a clone card, I'm using a real AT&T sim card that I just subscribed to yesterday....

Or should I wait a bit longer maybe and it'll work?

yup same here cloned all ok but no incoming sms,

I have no problems on my cingular card. I can send SMSs from my Tmobile phone to my iPhone back and forth all day and have no issues of missing any SMSs. Also my friends send me SMSs all day from various networks, so no issues here.

Yes used that method twice, once on 1.00 and 1.01 firmware and no issues.

I suppose its an issue with AT&T then.

I might as well try putting my simcard in an unlocked phone and see what happens.

Really annoying problem though.

So you have what an older ATT card, before they turned Cingular?

No I have a brand spanking new AT&T subscription that I literally got yesterday.

Its basically an iphone plan withouth being specifically an iphone plan, that way I get the same rates and all but with a 1 year subscription instead of 2. But my number was ported from the legacy AT&T wireless before they were bought off.
