I would like to share with you another behaviour that I have experienced lately

My wifi was dead, I was unable to connect to an AP for a long time but something strange happened a couple of days ago... I use to have my phone switched on all night (on its charger), but when I swith it off in the night I'm able to have some minutes of wifi when I switch it on in the morning...

This has happened several times but I was unable to for example run the appstore and download an app, the wifi was dead again in few seconds

BUT!

One night I played a lot (an hour or more) a game with intensive usage of CPU (Sentinel 2), so the phone was a bit warm when I switched off, the next day when I switched the phone on (was cold of course) I was able to use my wifi for 15 minutes perfectly....

Maybe the phone take into account the last temperature value (hot) and compares it with the real value in the morning (cold) and the wifi suddenly works ok

Try to do your own tests and let me know if someting happens.

I would like to ask you what does it says when u call on your phone (While your phone is on stand by mode) - I mean what does it says to the caller, it rings or it says your phone is switched off or what?

to all of you who have the real problem that the iphone does not wake up when a call comes in so that you miss it.

has nothing to do with silent switch or smth like that.

in some german board i read about one guy that deleted the three files in /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PowerManagement.bundle/ and everything worked fine for him so i tried it (after i tried anything else) and i was successful too.

basically it's deleting the wrong working power management (causing the iphone does not wake up) so it does not go into sleep mode. by doing this your battery is getting empty faster.

so if you wanna give it a try, do this:

1. back up your iphone data
2. go to /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PowerManagement.bundle/ either by ssh or a tool like "iphone explorer"
3. back up the three files located in this folder on your harddisk
4. delete them from the iphone
5. done

btw. these are the files to delete if you're not sure:

• com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist
• Info.plist
• PowerManagement

i also tried to just edit the plists but had no success neither by keeping one of the files.

i hope this works for you as well and maybe there is some ambitious hacker reading this who can give a better solution instead of just deleting these files.

I know this is a really old thread and maybe I am the last one having this problem - but I found a solution and wanted to share it:

a) you need to jailbreak your phone and use Cydia to install OpenSSH for gaining root access
b1) on older iOS find the directory /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PowerManagement.bundle/
b2) on newer iOS find the directory /System/Library/CoreServices/powerd.bundle/
c) copy the file "com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist" to your PC
d) make a backup of the file before you edit it
e) using a plist editor like PlistEdit Pro edit the copied file
f) find all keys named "Wake On Modem Ring" and change the value from "0" to "1" (some are already "1", you don't need to change theese)
g) save the changed file in the plist editor
h) on your phone delete the old "com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist" and copy the edited one in the directory
i) disconnect the SSH connection and reboot your phone

This method keeps power management running but get's rid of the error. Tested with success on a iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.1.3 with redsnow jailbreak. Before I tested a lot of other stuff (System Restore, DFU-Reset, Airplane-Mode On-Off and so on) but nothing changed the problem.

Is there something I'm missing here? When you put your phone in sleep mode, you don't want any incoming calls or texts, right? Or, do you mean that it doesn't even tell you that someone tried to call?
