    hey guys,

    got my 2nd iphone from applecare again after having struggled with no service, poor reception and sleep mode with two other. didn't use ziphone this time and went straight with pwned. guess what? excellent reception even in places where it was poor before. no problems with sleep mode whatsoever. once woken up i see all bars of network, not as before when the phone had to reconnect to the network every now and then. i am so happy now can't believe that!!!!
    my original iphone was week 43, two others from apple - week 44 with very similar serial numbers so it seems like software unlock related issue to me. i will update my post in a few days to confirm if the issue is gone.

    UPD 07/04: iPhone works great. thanks to apple and pwnage tool!

    Hi there, I had the problem no incoming calls or sms in sleepmode after a few minutes from day one with my 1.1.2 OOB running with NextSim in Germany. I followed this thread ever since (Jan 12th) and used the workaround via changing the name of the plist of the Powermanagement and later with imapidle - both ways gave me a standbytime of 22hours max - Three days ago I went to 1.1.4 via Pwnage and everything works fine - standby 26 hours and only half the battery is gone...I know its no help to others who tried the same, maybe there are different causes to this problem - I just wanted to let people know maybe it helps to narrow it down further...greetings from bexxxo, now in iPhone heaven!

    Additional Information: I used the following settings: checked: "enable basband update" + "neuter bootloader" + "unlock baseband" + "avtivate iphone" didnīt check: "upgrade to 4.6" + "downgrade to 3.9" + "Use DevTeam custom pictures"

    Hi guys,

    This thread hasn't been updated in a few months, but I'm having the exact same problem with my new 8gig US phone (1.1.4 OTB, week 14).
    I bought it last week and jailbroke it with iLiberty+ and everything works fine, except for that "no ring when in sleep mode" problem, which basically makes my phone useless...
    So I was wondering if there had been any new developpements with solutions to this problem. Please please tell me there has been, cause I'm not in the US anymore and I have no way to get it replaced (not that they would have taken it back with no AT&T contract to prove it doesn't work anyway).

    Status: I have tried restoring to 1.1.4 several times and I have now downgraded to 1.1.3 (jailbroken with iLiberty+) with no succes.
    I also don't have access to a mac so even the hypothetical Pwnage tool isn't an easy option.

    PS: ok I'm a moron, hadn't seen the latest response is from yesterday. I guess I'll try to find a way to try Mihaid's method; can anyone recommand an SSH program on windows? Or better yet, a step by step on how to do this? Or even better yet, an iLiberty payload that would do this automaticialy?
    It doesn't seem to hard to build, it's just replacing a file, right?

    @ Bexxo

    Just wondering what your baseband and bootloader versions are after running Pwnage. If you didn't choose upgrade bootloader, I assume its still 3.9? Thinking of trying Pwnage to see if the problem is fixed without hacking the power management file... Wish I had a better way to back up contacts than Outlook...

    ok, status update. I tried the power management fix (thanks Daysleeper / MihaiD) and it seems to work. I guess I'll try to get to a mac to try the Pwnage thing, but untill then I guess this'll have to do it.
    I'll edit this with battery life info and keep you informed if I do the Pwnage thing.

    Update 2: I used a friend's mac to pwn my phone, and it didn't solve the problem.
    I want to try updating back to BL 4.6 and remove the fakeblank, just to be sure, even if I doubt it'll help.
    I'm not sure I can safely use BootNeuter from my home since it seems to need to be connected to the mac that Pwned it to work... Can someone confirm BootNeuter is autonomous and can be used without a computer?

    If that doesn't work I guess I'm stuck with the Daysleeper / MidaiD solution, which is better than nothing...

    Well, I went back to 4.6 no-FB and it didn't change anything. I guess I'm stuck...

    @Daysleeper
    I have an 1.1.2 OOB from week 50 so I started with BL 4.6 and never downgraded - so when I didnīt upgrade or downgrade with bootneuter I should still be on 4.6 but I donīt really know how to check... The Info screen says I am on Modem Firmware 04.40.05_G - how do I tell the BL? (without installing any software)

    @Daysleeper:
    As I said I'm using your version of the file for the power management workaround, and I got to the 20% battery warning after about 16 hours (roughly 3 of which where not "sleep mode": ipod music, showing pics, talking on the phone, etc). So I'm guessing it's not actually different from the "no file" version.
    Maybe someone could take a closer look at the file and tweek it some more? Who knows...

    I'm going to try disabling Edge (with Bossprefs), since I don't have an edge subscription; it might help. And disabling WiFi when I'm not using it might help too I guess?

    For reference, how much battery life do you guys get with this workaround?

    Hey guys, I don't know if anyone is reading this thread anymore, but I have some interesting info that might explain the discrepency between our reports and Daysleeper's reports :
    As I said before, I first tried the Daysleeper fix with little succes to improve battery life, but now I'm trying it with disabled Wi-Fi and Edge (disable edge through the BossPrefs app), and after 24 hours I'm still at 50% battery life. I used the ipod for a couple of hours and had a few phone conversations (not many), but it's a lot better than what I got yesterday with Wi-Fi and Edge enabled (about double).

    So I don't know who was using what in the previous reports, but if you have the "no ringer while in sleep mode" issue and no other trick fixes it, my advice would be this :
    Use the Daysleeper / MihaiD fix on page 45, and if you can, disable Edge and only enable Wi-Fi when you're actually using it. Some people might not want to cripple their phone like this, but I can't actually use my provider's edge network anyway, and I only have Wi-Fi at home, so it works out pretty well for some people.

    Anyway, I hope this helps.
