After thinking about this a little, it looks like the mp3 fix works because it doesnt let the phone fully power down?

Are there any other things that stop this without drawing so much power?

What it looks like is that we need something that is constantly doing something, but for the sake of the battery that work should be kept to a minimum.

The best solution might be to make a custom app that just does some work ever 5 - 10 seconds to keep the phone and connection alive
I dont know much about iphone programming at the moment, but im willing to give it a shot as soon as my exams are over. It *should* be a pretty basic program to make ..i hope...

Until then it might be worth seeing if any other programs can stop the disconnects. Does it happen while WiFi is enabled?

Does anyone have an ssh server installed? ive heard that drains battery power, so it is probably keeping the phone awake. Its propably a lower power drain that the mp3 solution.

It happens to me too...

I just went through all available applications in ibrickr just to see if there is something out there which could be used to make the phone 'active' even in sleep mode. But no luck! There are so many applications out there, which are, in my oppinion, nonsense.... It would be so great if someone could take a look at 'our' problem. Especially now where more and more people start showing up with that issue. What can we do to increase visibility? I'm sure some tech guy would jump on it. This person would make my day!

I installed Open SSH on my Iphone, put it to sleep and called. Unfortunately it does not work :-( Still no ringtone or vibrating.

I've had this problem for so long, i just wish someone would create and app or something!! I just dock my iphone at home and play music on mute when i'm out...it sucks I unlocked my friend's iphone and his works fine...no luck i tell you!!

We could really do with someone creating an app that will keep enough power to the phone when in sleep mode, but will not drain the power as much as the 'ipod workaround'.

Can anyone help?
