Is anyone doing any work on accessing SIM data from the iPhone?
I am referring here to saving and retrieving contact data etc.?

sadly iphone does not support sim contacts.. you have to type them manually

download it from your old phone to your windows address book and then sync with itunes.

Theres also aSMS, an app

I had no problem getting my contacts over. Actually I did it for a friend via a similar method to that suggested above, as I long ago stopped using SIM contacts as I have too many for a standard SIM anyway.

What I was referring to is if anyone was working on, or had a solution to actually interrogate the SIM card. I am kind of lurking here at the moment, and picking up bits and pieces of info, with the aim of developing some apps for the iPhone myself. My first was going to be a stab at putting together something which enabled people to retrieve and save SIM contacts, as many people here (Thailand) are asking for it.

But I was hoping someone with a bit more experience could perhaps save me some research by pointing me the right way..
