I was not being their spokesperson. I am here with an unlocked phone i DIDNT buy off Apple so get over it. I didnt even say i agreed with it. I was merely stating what would be Apple stand on unauthrised resellers.

But its just pure fact and what any major branded companies views are on unauthorised resellers. Some tollerate it, some actively forbid it and some just ignore it.

Apple do know know these internet onsellers from a bar of soap. They dont know what their support policy is, they dont know what their business ethics are. They really would not want to open the brand up for devaluation or potential unhappy customers.

While I do understand where you're coming from, the whole how "Apple wants their customers to feel as they walk into either an offical Apple Store or an authorised reseller..." I DON'T agree with.

Have you been into one of the Apple stores lately to buy an iPhone? It doesn't matter if you're buying even ONE, they give you the third degree. They are like the Soup Nazi (Seinfeld reference..."No soup for you")! And it does tick me off, they have HORRIBLE attitudes (just my experience with the 5+ stores I've been to in Southern California).

I wasn't an Apple fan before the iPhone... I became a fan with the UNLOCKED phones, but with all that Apple's doing, and the shitty "Holier than thou" attitudes of the salespeople that grill you if you're buying an iPhone (I call it Corporate Brainwashing), I would be done with all this...EXCEPT, it's a sickness, I know...but I'm obsessed with unlocking new phones and seeing how much progress the dev team makes. It's just exciting!

This reselling issue will be an strange issue here in Germany. Selling starts Nov. 9, and - for sure - you need to sign a 2yr contract with t-mobile directly in the shop. No online orders, no pickups, so it will be hard to get a phone without contract.

And so no reselling of "german" iphones will occur here in Germany. Maybe a new strategy to dont let too much phones out without contract. Good old steve recognized that his at&t contract money counter on his office wall counted not so much than his iphone unit counter ;-)

So I think they will try not to online sell the iphone any more in the next future - you need to sign a contract - untill the court stops this thing for steve.

    Na..
