Exclamation Show my caller ID Switch gone in 2.0

    Hi everyone.

I used to turn on my Show My Caller ID, and yes, it worked in 1.1.4.
I turned it on and my number was hidden, but now in 2.0, the switch
is greyed out in (off) but my number is showing up.

    Somebody with the same issues?

i had a similar issue with my 2G iphone on Fido. mine was greyed out in the on position but my number was always hidden. getting a new sim card made it so it was no longer greyed out but i had to actually call my carrier because i wasnt able to unblock it.

I hope there is a sim issue. I just tried 3 sims from the same carrier and the same happens with all...

I will try with another carrier sim.

Try this: put the phone in Airplane Mode now go to your phone settings and switch your caller id ON, from now on it should work as usual. Thanks for the reps

It;s nowhere near that easy, trust us. If it were someone with Posts: 530 and Rep Power: 36 would not have posted about the issue.

I actually tried playing with the carrier settings and deleting everything so that it showed up as an unknown carrier, I also downgraded to 1.1.4 because i only noticed the problem after upgrading to 2.0. 1.1.4 with the 2.0 baseband continued the issue (leading me to believe that it is some how a baseband issue)

In the end the new sim card *might* not have been needed however the new sim did remove the permanent red dot on the phone icon. and I did have to call my carrier, they told me a hard block had been placed on my line (a block that can not be undone by *30#.

    Hi, here is the update.
After hours of trying to know what was happening, I decided to call my carrier.
They told me that due to maintenance issues, all the services including call barring,
caller id and call forwarding were denying the requests, that was why the switch was
grey when trying to turn it off or on.

However, that Airplane mode thing should help, since the iPhone won't request the
actual status of the network service, as the "phone" is "off", it will just accept the
request and try to apply it to the next call. Some people reported success and I left
positive feedback *rep for the fast answer.
But this time, it was not an iPhone issue, it was problem of the carrier.
    Thanks for everyone's help.
