Hey Everybody,

I found someone who is selling their bricked iPhone and I negotiated the price down to $250. Although there are some risks involved it is possible to unbrick the phone at which point I can use the phone or sell it for $500 (I live in Canada, people will pay 500+). I already have an iPhone (stock 1.1.1) so I'm thinking of buying/unbricking and reselling. Is this a good idea? What would you do?

it sounds good unless the commboard is stuffed. get the owner to enter

*3001#12345#* and see if a modem veresion comes up if its there then the commboard should be ok if not it could be stuffed or the commcenter might just be unloaded. its all a bit of a risk, but life is a gamble

hell i would ask him if i could borow it first, and try and unbrick, restore downgrade/unlock, and if it works pay him 250

hmm... i found this person via craigslist so i don't know him well enough to make such a request, if the unbrick doesn't bode well then i can sell it back on craiglist for the same price. BTW i was reading your tutorial for unlocking 1.1.1 (which i currently own) good job! best tutorial so far, but it's a little beyond my scope technically, nonetheless thanks for posting it.

heck it's a gamble, you'd either loose 250 or gain 250 from it. I'd go for it

am trying to say IPSF can unbrick his phone so both the phone and the software are worth the buy.

ok guys, i'm going to go pick the phone up in a couple of hours, i'll let you know how everything goes.
