    Default September 5th event....

so... people predicts iPod stuff.. like a new nano maybe or even 6th gen ipod. wireles itunes is in the predictions list too. but i think they will also undo the iphonesimfree.com unlock. and add new features! so people stick with the legal version. what do you think >?

And please if you are one of the ones that doesn;t believe iphonesimfree please dont coment here... this is a speculating thread considering that solution as TRUE. its not that is 100% shure it is, but if its not true then nothing will happen

I was under the impression the 6th gen iPod relying on OSX was a 99% correct rumor. As in almost a fact.

I doubt there will be new iPhone FW, but there might be announced a single or two new features for the future. I don't think the MMS feature will ever be announced, really.

They MIGHT also come with some comments on the european iPhone specs. If they are changed in any way. Some details on how they plan to unroll the iPhone in Europe and such.

I am hoping for a 1.1 iPhone update, with LOTS of new features, sort of like an SP1.

Hopefully this will all not comprimise the unlock's.

If the new Video Ipod (aka IPod Touch) is released next Wednesday and it is as many think - a IPhone without the phone but thicker to accommodate a hard disk, I really wonder what that will do to IPhone sales...

The big plus of the IPhone to me is that its a cool phone (with web browsing and email) AND its an IPod so I only need 1 device. However, with little over 7GB free space, its a lousy IPod for people with large Libraries. Its also really expensive - $600 + tax + a 2 year contract. Even if you factor out the contract and assume people are happy to pay for a mobile phone monthly, its expensive.

If the new IPod is < $300 + tax with a hard disk... that means the IPhone looks like much worse value. And I suggest that *some* of the IPhone market - a much bigger money earner for Apple than IPods - will be eaten away by cheaper IPods.

    Any one else agree/disagree?

As far as I'm concerned, I don't want to have dozens of gadgets. I like simplicity. It's not merely a phone, which is an unfortunate misnomer; it's a God machine.

We simply have to wait -- even the Wall Street Journal doesn't know more:

Apple May Reveal iPods With More Features
    By BEN CHARNY
    August 30, 2007; Page D4

SAN FRANCISCO -- Apple Inc. is expected next week to introduce new versions of its digital music players that have more features, but cost the same. The new gear, say analysts, typifies how the Cupertino, Calif., company is focusing on its core businesses after expanding into the cellphone industry earlier this year with its iPhone.

Last month, Apple unveiled a similar update of its iMac desktop computers, in which it added more features and in some cases dropped the prices.

Apple, in an emailed invitation, would only reveal that it has scheduled the media event for Wednesday in San Francisco.

According to Goldman Sachs analyst David Bailey -- and several Apple fan sites -- the new iPods would be the first to be based on a version of Apple's homegrown computer operating system. They will be about an inch shorter and will be capable of storing more digital media, according to Apple fan sites.

There is also speculation that the new media players will feature some elements, such as a touchscreen, that Apple first introduced in its iPhone.

Separately, Apple appears to be exploring new opportunities to more deeply integrate its products with the entertainment systems inside vehicles. Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs met recently with Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn, according to Hans-Gerd Bode, a spokesman for the German auto maker. German financial magazine Capital reported the two executives discussed a possible "iCar" project that would feature products by Apple, whose iPod music player already has some integration with car stereo systems.

Mr. Bode said "there's nothing going on in the direction of having cooperation" with Apple. An Apple spokeswoman declined comment.

I would expect new Nano's inline with the recent rumours.

I am not expecting an update to the iPhone software but they may announce the carriers and launch dates for UK, Germany and France.

Who knows what the "One more thing..." will be??

Looking forward to the 5th anyway. Should be good!
