So if I understand it correctly, all Americans who distribute the software (if it exists),
can be prosecuted by AT&T. Smart move from SimFree.
If they have the software, someone else will be prosecuted, not them, probably Trash or anyone else who has a bulk order. If not, they will make money very very fast like it is stated in Ars.

Wow, glad I'm not a distributor. I wonder how long it will take for this to turn into a sh!t show with ATT's legal dept.

Especially notice how Ars is writing "reseller", and also

"The end result is that iPhoneSIMfree is asking for gobs of money up front, and to make matters worse, they're asking end users to essentially become business partners in a potentially illegal business operation. "

    and

"Bulk orders enable iPhoneSIMfree to maximize its revenues quickly, which is especially attractive if the company isn't planning on being around for a long time."

It seems to me Ars thinks it's scam already.

Could also mean they plan to sell and supply as many licences as they can in the shortes possible time and then drop out of sight.

answer is simple - non-americans can act as resellers.

You mean after the bulk retailers here who mean to do good end up in jail because of those scam artists or before? Cause it is clear to me that regardless of if the software to unlock the phone exists or not (I tend to not),
all the good people here who try to organize groups of buyers are in deep s...t

Good thing I am Greek, but the issue is not that.
If the software does exist, this is no way to do business. A lot of risks, legal threats, etc.
If it does not exist, it's going to be the biggest scam in many years.
Personally I believe that even if the unlock exists, those people are scam.
There were 10 better ways to distribute the software, and they chose the least transparent.
