Default Screen Defect on Brand New iPhone

    Hi,

I know this probably doesnt fit in here, but I am just furious with my new phone.

I just received it, it was in a brand new box, sealed as coming from factory, but the screen has some trouble.

At times, it flickers in places. I would say the size of the flicker is about a size of a match's head, and it jumps all over the place. If I let it be, it calms down, when I do some activity on the screen it comes back. Did anyone see this before? I have now upgraded to 1.02 and also activated the phone to be an iPod. When I play back something, its fine, but in the menu , or when I type, its just bothering, and I dont think a brand new phone should have this.

    Thanks for any ideas,

    Cheers

    Ben

p.s. I had it shipped to Hungary, so I cannot just walk to the Apple store and return it.

It wasnt a supplier, I got it from Ebay, and the person just got it from an Apple store.

No he did not send it. I think I requested him not to send it, as I wanted to get it tax free, which is how it came through.

So basically this error is all new to the community? Not something I can fix somehow?

    Thanks

    Ben

If the brightness is not up to full turn it up to full.

If its at full turn it down a notch.

    See if that works.

Also do a full restore with latest firmware if it doesnt.

    Hi,

I have restored to the newest firmware, played with all the settings, nothing helps. Seems something is damaged between the screen and the board, or the board itself The screen is fine, with no dead pixels, and these dots are moving around, getting stuck at times to places, then moving again, quite annoying.

I called Apple, and they had nothing to say but Bad Luck for me to be in Hungary. Although they did say I can send the phone to US, and have it repaired there, but who do I send it to? My seller? I wont have any guarantee that he is in fact going to help me, and not just keep the phone for himself.

Anyways, this is whats happening, any suggestions are strongly welcome.

    Thanks

    Ben

Hi. So is it the same for you? My screen sometimes settles down, and specially when I am scrolling or typing something, small dots start to run around on the screen, flicker, and do other nice and crazy things.

I am charging my camera now, and will be videoing it shortly. I am off to a business trip to Prague and Bratislava today, but I will be updating with a link from there so we can compare.

    Cheers,

    Ben

No, it's just one pixel. It's jumping to 2 different locations.
