    Default Safari pop-up Action?

Not sure if anyone has seen this before, or really knows why it's there, but if you open up a page in safari in landscape mode (probably works in letter mode too) and keep your thumb on the edge of the screen (1/2 on the screen, 1/2 off), then something happens.

The screen fades out a little bit and a nice bubble shows up under your thumb, with the word 'Action'. I haven't figured out how to use it yet, and it could be a future feature...

Just wondering if anyone else seen it and knows how to use it

I think I have the wrong thumb version on my hand ... :-)

Could you be a bit more specific? 1.1.1 or 1.1.2? Edge of the screen? Which corner? Where?

so far seen it work on 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 and any edge of the screen.

I'm successful at doing it everytime in landscape, I scroll down a webpage and make sure there is no content that could be clickable on the left side.

Put your thumb on the left edge of the screen, so that only about the tip of your thumb is on the screen and wait for a few seconds.
Your screen will slightly dim down and a small 'Action' bubble will pop-up

I'll try to snap a pic of what I'm talking about later on... if you get it, then post up!

I'm either incapable of following instructions, or my phone simply doesn't do that. I'm on a 1.1.2 phone.

Your finger actually doesn't need to be halfway-on-halfway-off the screen. Just putting the finger on a link (mine doesn't seem to work on a link-less area - 1.0.2) and holding it there gives a description of the action which will be performed upon clicking that link. For instance, putting the finger on a checkbox gives me "Checkbox" as a "popup".

Would post better screenshots but I can't SSH into my phone over this wifi network...

Yea. I think its some type of javascript links on the webpage you have on display. Thats what i found out on this topic.

Ahh I see- so more of an embeded webpage type action?

    the page is http://slashdot.org

I knew about the URL 'lookup', so you can see where the page will take you, I didn't know it was doing it also for checkboxes and whatnot.
I guess it just didn't make sense to have an action pop-up on the side of a blank area for a page.
