Are you really still running iPhone OS 1.1.x? Moved to separate thread as your description does not match the thread you posted in.

I think what you got was mobilesubstrate protecting you from a springboard crash under iPhone OS3.x. This happens when a plugin that uses mobilesubstrate is buggy and causes a crash. It is NOT mobilesubstrate's fault. It could be SpringBoard's fault or most likely it is some mobilesubstrate plugin.

You can see what mobilesubstrate plugins you have installed using SBSettings which is itself a mobilesubstrate plugin.
