Default [Rumor] MacWorld 2008 transcription leaked

    http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=79681

As everybody’s favorite keynote of the year approaches, more and more rumors about the great iProducts to come begin floating around the great rumor mill. Our friends over at MacRumors have supposedly obtained a draft version of the keynote transcripts for the upcoming MacWorld 2008. I have no idea if it is real or not, but I wouldn’t doubt it. Here’s a summary of the speculated things to come. Here’s a compiled list of what MacRumor’s two transcripts consist of. Remember, none of this is guaranteed and nothing is promised, so don’t hold your breath on it.

    iPhone
    • SDK Available at MacWorld
    • Developers can sell their signed apps from iTunes starting in March
    • New software includes Multimedia messaging, video recording with the camera, and an eBook reader
    • iPhone games available from the iTunes store
    • 3G iPhone announced (looks similar to the existing model)
    • iPhone available in more countries

Remember, nothing here is guaranteed, but it sure does sound awesome.

I think the vast majority of these are expected. Steve has admitted that a 3G phone is coming, we know that SDK was going to be available in Feb with an earliest application available through itunes in March/April, We knew more countries would be announced particulary in Europe, Multimedia messaging and ebook have been floating as rumors for some time, and the video recording would be nice (and new).

One thing that is glaringly missing is a capacity upgrade on the iphone. While this is only speculation, recent reports of Apple's buying strategy would suggest that 16 and 32 Gbyte Flash drives are due to appear in products, most probably Ultra Portable laptops, iphones or maybe AppleTV or even the Mac Mini if they decide to update it! The omission of a capacity update would suggest to me that this leak is fake! - Just my opinion!

All in all there is nothing really new in the list, but it is only speculation until the event.

Nice find. It sounds quite likely to me. Seems to be in line with recent speculation and Apples' probable product development path.

I must say i do like the direction Apple seem to be heading . I think their market is going to grow and grow, especially in portable devices.
I'm a Windows user (except iPhone) but i would really like to move into Mac's, but i just am dependant on Windows which is a shame.

    - 1.1.2 OTB iPhone (BL 3.9)
    - 1.1.3 Installed
    - Unlocked using AnySIM 1.3
    - GPRS active
    - Visual voicemail not available

Huge "Thank You" to all those involved in jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone and for dedicating your time and patience. Keep up the good work!

it may well be that a 3g i phone is talked about during the conference , however I would doubt anyone will see it until current contracts run out . If your 18 month contract is only just signed you are not going to be best pleased

This is a little off topic, but why are you so dependent on Windows?

I have been using Mac's for the past 4 years with no issues. The intel based units allow me to use Parallels desktop so that I can use the dreaded XP or Vista environments. I use a very highend piece of SW within this environment that runs faster on the Mac platform that on my work based PC (similar spec)!

    Back on topic
What is out lined in the leak is very interesting indeed. If there is any truth behind it, expect it to be removed from the web tomorrow. If its still there, well then it's false information.

I think it'll most likely be released around June/July as it was in 2007 when it first came out. That'll bring in more customers and only 6 months left for those who signed up to iPhone v1. (Don't know why i'm speculating, its so pointless lol)

This is why you now have the ability to run windows on a mac. Sorry to be a bit off topic.

As for this transcript, a lot of these things do look like they will appear at MacWorld. The iPhone announcements especially. But as always with Apple, we won't really know till Steve tells us himself next week.

@AviTzavi: iPhone with UMTS. Try wikipedia for the next time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3G).

One of my contacts confirmed me about one month ago that the iPhone with UMTS will be released in May/June by Swisscom (Switzerland).

    Cheers

Sounds nice, but no way as sexy as SJ's key notes are.
