Has anyone subscribed to the 6GB Rogers Data Package for $30 in Canada using a 2G version 2.0 iPhone? (I know the plan is suppose to be for 3G only, but 3G is not available everywhere, so it should be able to use it on 2G phones too).
It's my understanding that Rogers has no way to track it (3G, Edge, IEMI, etc.). I was told by someone who works at Rogers that comes up with these packages.
I had been subscribing to the Windows mobile data package for many months without issue (they claimed it wouldn't apply to PC Cards either, which was a load of crap, since I used my PC Card all the time and they are not tracking what devices you are actually using).
I'm thinking that since 3G is not available everywhere the phone will have to drop down to 2G data support anyhow, so they can' t just be charging based on 3G data.
I just don't want to get a nasty charge on my bill at the end of the month and wouldn't mind hearing from someone who's actually gotten a bill!
