    Default [Ringtones] install without iTunes

I've been looking around but cannot find anything to do with what i want, so here is what i want to know:

Can you add a custom ringtone to my 1.1.4 without using itunes i.e. anysoftware that does it for you, i think i use to use idemocracy on 1.1.2.

I just don't want to do the itunes way as you can only have 30 seconds, but i want the whole song

    any help please.

look in the native software forum and find something on the app called ringtone, its new and it works like a charm on my 1.1.3. you basically pick songs from within your phone's ipod and it converts them into ringtone. you then go to settings and choose the file you want as ringtone and good to go. the app developer is 'skrew' i believe. check it out.

I want to be able to have a ringtone for the full length of the song not just 30 secs, as i said there use to be a program called idemocracy which you used through windows.

Is there not a way i can go into the file system and drag and drop a file into it

you can use sendsong.app to set any mp3 in your library as a ringtone. Also, you can just shorten an mp3 to a 30 second clip and rename the extension to .m4r

i dont know, I never tried it. Anyways the iPhone will go to voicemail in under 30 seconds so I think the point is moot.

In the thread about the Ringtone software they say that the 30 seconds limit is hardcoded in the iPhone.
But why would you want to have a full length song for ringtone? Do you want it to continue to play when they have hung up? Or do your friends wait for 3-4 minutes for you to answer while you listen to music? =) (Does make me think of a old Scrubs episode that was funny)
