Hi guys i bought my iphone 2g 8gb last september just right after the price drop. I have been having problems recently with my iphone the "this accessory is not compatible with iphone" pop-up and the sound dissappears. When i mean sound is gone I mean that when you unlock or when you get an sms there is no sound lol. Anyways i ahve found out a weird but effective temporary fix for this problem which is to blow yes BLOW air using your mouth lol at the connector part. or near the speakers below your iphone. Its just a temporary fixed i get my sound back and the popup mentioned above doesnt show. But in a matter of about 5-10 mins. problems comes back. I have thought about it and i still have the 1 yr limited warranty thats default when u buy an iphone. What if i just go to the apple store and request for a replacement. It would be a much better move cause i got some scratches on my iphone already and it wud be great to get a new one . haha.

Question i have Hacktivated my iphone so i dont have a legit iphone 2g contract. Does apple people ask you if you have a contract or not? WHat if they ask to check on the iphone if they can fix it and Im not dumb enough to return a jailbreaked iphone soo they gnna get an unactivated iphone. Can i just say i want it replaced without them needing to check if the sound does disappear and if the pop-up does show?

I know its kinda confusing so just reply back if you need some clarifications.

Gnna restore it to 2.0 firmware using itunes and bring it to apple store.

Im not sure if this is the right thread to post in btu i cannot seem to make a new thread so i thought i would try my luck.

My fiance recently bought me a 2G iphone from america (im living in australia) and i cannot seem to get my sim card to work. I have tried everything, even bought a simcard from america and no luck. From what i know i installed firmware 2.0 on the iphone and each time i turn it on it comes up with the itunes on the top and the usb cable pointing up to it.

can someone please help me as ive been trying to do this for a couple of days now.
