    Default Restoring data from older firmware

    2G iphone, v2.1
    I just realized i had some videos when i had 1.1.4 wich i would like to get back.
    i've never done a complete erase on my phone, so is it possible to restore the data somehow?

    This might sound stupid but this is the only thing i remember: it was either the one with the red curtain or the the one with the yellow logo and a silver-ish camera from may/june this year.


    Youknow when people realized that there were no option to securely erase the data.. I just need to find an app that can digg up old really old data.

    the red curtain onei believe is mxtube and the other is iphone video recorder. Since u did not make a complete erase on ur phone, i believe that u did not restore in itunes u just updated so u can ssh into ur phone and search for the files there. This ca be done by installing openssh from cydia and winscp/windows or cyberduck/mac.

    Depends on what he did going from 1.1.4 to 2.1. He probably used Pwnagetool and for that you have to DFU restore so the file might be still there but not visible to ssh or sftp connections.
    Using forensic tools then on this one would really be way too much, plus getting back huge videofiles might not even work then.
    BTW: The op did not use the iPhones earase feature, but as i said, due to DFU restore - gone.

    well i supposed he used quickpwn since he mentioned that he did not erase the phone...
