Restore for Warranty
Hi all,
I used QuickPwn to update to Firm 2.1. My Iphone has now some problem, the touchscreen doesn't work , i must push 2 time on power button, then ok. That means i receive the call but can not accept it.
I want to restore the phone back to 2.1 Original ( + baseband...) and send it to apple for warranty.
How can i make it?
thanks

you need to do a DFU restore, use the shift key method to locate 2.1 file.

when you use Quickpwn you can't restore your bootloader back in original.

You are mixing up things here. The baseband is unlocked, so is your iPhone. cause on 2G iPhones the baseband does not change from 2.0.x to 2.1 it remains unlocked.
If you want the iPhone 2G at firmware 2.1 but "Apple-like" you have to first load Bootneuter.
then make sure Auto-Lock is set to Never - verrrrry important!!!!
Then start Bootneuter, set the Bootloader to the version the iPhone came with (OOTB fw <= 1.1.1 Bootloader is 3.9; OOTB >=1.1.2 Bootloader is 4.6). All three others have to be set to off (Fakeblanf=off, neuter=off, unlock=off). You have then to flash. make damn sure youdont touch anything while flashing, you risk the iPhone otherwise. Will take some minutes. After done the iPhone will reboot locked but still jailbroken and activated
Start iTunes and restore to Apple Firmware 2.1 and you are set.
A note: Flashing Bootloader and/or baseband always is a bit of risk. Even though Bootneuter is a safe program, once you interrupt the process of the software you may end with a brick. Make sure to always set Auto-Lock to Never and have the iPhone connected to a power source to not run out of power while flashing!

volkspost i think you are talking about 2G iPhone... but what happens for the situation down below?
What happens to the "Warranty" after jailbreak?
For an officially purchased iPhone 3G from the designated carrier, what happens to the warranty when we jailbreak with QuickPWN and start using CYDIA and Installer?
if we simply restore the phone using iTunes, will everything go back to the factory settings? will m'iPhone be under warranty again? or is there anything so called as logger that logs everything and apple can understand the jailbreak action?

A full DFU will erase the 3G phone back to factory condition and remove any trace of the pwnage JB.
So warranty will not be affected
