reseller asking for IMEI codes and Serial numbers
I have a reseller asking for my IMEI codes and Serial numbers. Is it safe to give out this info? He say he needs this to give to ISF. Anyone other reseller requesting the same things from their customer?

i suggest you dont do that. thats pretty weird. wait till the experts in the board clarify more

Definitely don't do give out that information. Wait until the unlocking process is clarified and if needed, then give it out. Who is your reseller? Pur their name out in this forum so they will be accountable for what they're doing.
If the're not reputable, then they would want to keep hidden.
If they're reputable, then they would have no problem with you naming them in this forums.

if I'm not totally wrong the iphonesimfree unlock does not require the IMEI to be given beforehand. the description in the faq states that this is requested during the unlocking process either manually or automatically.
to be sure you should ask your reseller which unlock method he's selling

diet, the IMEI is requried for when the phone connects to the unlock server, so it can check if that phone has a licence to be unlocked. Then it gets unlocked. You have to give those details, they cant do anything with them anyways.

Of course i can do a lot of things with your IMEI: E.g. call the police in your name and tell them some stories. I don't need a sim for that, just a working mobile. The mobile will be identified by IMEI then ... Or i can use it, if my mobile is barred.
Until IFSF REALLY states, what necessary, I won't give any informations about my mobile.
At the moment, hackint0sh is turning into a IFSF "support forum".
